An Emergency Medicine Physician providing critical care in a hospital emergency department in Colorado. Responsibilities include diagnosing and treating acute illnesses and injuries, performing medical procedures, and coordinating with EMS and other medical staff. The role involves managing patient care, interpreting diagnostic tests, and ensuring timely and appropriate treatment plans during shifts ranging from 5 to 13 per month.
Schedule: Sign-up schedule. Can average between 5 to 13 shifts each month.DutiesConsult with consultants appropriately.Provide medical advice over the telephone.Complete all required paperwork.Diagnose and treat diseases and injuries.Perform medical procedures.Obtain an adequate history, physical, assessment, and plan in a timely and appropriate manner on each patient and develop a treatment plan.Utilize paraprofessional staff as appropriate.Respond to cardiopulmonary arrest as appropriate and arrange appropriate backup from the Emergency Medical Service (EMS).Interpret electrocardiograms.Preliminary to interpret radiographs to include CAT scans Direct medical care through radio communication with an ambulance.
